Patricia Wentworth

This popular British writer of crime fiction was born Dora Amy Elles in India but was educated and lived in England (<a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patricia_Wentworth>Wikipedia</a>). The private detective featured in many of her novels was <a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_Silver>Miss Maud Silver</a>, a retired governess.
